These days Microsoft is irrelevant to anything I care about. —
Tim Bray - this quote, surprisingly, struck a chord with me. I was one of the first people among my peers to switch to using a Mac (circa OS X 10.1) and I took a lot of teasing for the first few years. Because of this, I developed the typical Apple fanboy, knee-jerk animosity towards Microsoft for a while. Nowadays almost everyone I work with uses Macs and I have zero MS software installed on my computers. I still have a couple of contacts who I rarely talk to, but when I do they still try to push my buttons about the PC vs. Mac thing. This feels so awkward anymore and I can’t even fake the enthusiasm for some playful geek arguing. Tim finally made it click for me: I don’t dislike Microsoft at all, they’re just completely invisible and irrelevant to me. (via strake)
I completely agree.
